Eastsound Sewer & Water District (ESWD) has been notified of a phishing email sent to some customers who use auto bill pay through Banner Bank.
The email appears to be from Banner Bank and claims that ESWD has changed how we accept payments. This is not true. ESWD has made no changes to our payment methods. We have confirmed with Banner Bank that the email did not originate from them.
This is a fraudulent email intended to collect personal or financial information.
What to do:
- Do not click links or download attachments in the email
- Do not provide any personal or banking information
- Delete the email immediately
- If you interacted with the email, contact your bank right away
ESWD will never request sensitive financial information via email.
